I love this bike so much. I use it all over Brooklyn. I have a child seat on the back and feel it is so perfect because it is such a solid and reliable bike.

I've been eyeing the Swobo Dixon for over a year, but ended up buying a Trek Madone. I finally bought my Swobo through REI and all I can say is that I wish I had bought this bike in the first place. I use it everywhere while my $4k Trek Madone just gathers dust.

I agonized for far too long before finally pulling the trigger. I had my dealer swap a Baxter hooptie bar for even more riding comfort and I'm flying through the rain to work in Vancouver every day. I knew I'd love the 9speed hub, but an unexpected stellar feature has been the brilliant brakes!

I've had my Dixon about a month and I love it! It's an awesome city/commuter bike. I live in Bend,Or so I see more than my share of cold and wet weather. I bought mine with fenders, rack, and a basket since it is my only source of transportation. I've gotten lots of comments and so far they've all been positive. To anyone who is browsing this website and reading these reviews: if you're looking for a commuter bike that is a blast to ride and bombproof buy a Dixon! You won't be disappointed.

I actually bought my dixon used - from a guy who was too lazy to regularly leave his home I guess.
First and foremost it is a fun bike. The 9 gears are really perfect, although if your entire life is spent on super steep hills you probably are better off staying on the hoods of your 16 pound carbon machine.
Like another poster, I am not crazy about the Swobo stickers on the bike, but overall this is the bike I would have sex with if that were possible.

This bike is incredible. I used mine every day while I was living in California. Unfortunatly I have been away from her for a year now due to traveling but I will be back in june and am taking her on an epic trip from San Fransico to LA.
Big hugs Swobo

Just brought my new Dixon home today and went for a ride. The internal hub works great, and nine gears are plenty, performing very well in my hilly area (Reno). I love the overall no-nonsense look of the bike, and the gunmetal grey color is very low-profile. The only negative remark I have is the logos, I mean, do they have to put the shopping cart brand thingy everywhere? I removed the top tube sticker easily enough (it's glued on), and replaced the stem and handlebars with pieces without logos, giving it a more subtle look. Otherwise, a very nice bike I plan on having a long time.

I've had the Dixon for a couple months now and let me tell you it's everything I hoped for in an Urban commuter and more! The disc brakes stop it likes it hot, the gunmetal gray just looks tough and the Hub is bombproof.....even when I ghost ride the bike in traffic....JK rowling....
So if you're looking for a fun tough Urban commuter this cycle should be your joint...
Swobo Rocks!

When my bike got stolen I searched for months looking for a bike that would serve me well in my 18 mile round trip commute. After consulting with Sky it was determined the Dixon was the bike for me. Glad I put my faith in her expertise, because I got exactly what I needed. This bike is a great commuter. Fast enough to get me to work on time, and so much fun I want to ride it everywhere!

Just got the Dixon back from the Mpls.police dept. After one solid year of patrol work the bike still rocks the pavement. A bent front wheel was the only issue. We upgraded the tires to 2.2 WTB Graffti UK and the awesome Hooptie bars. Cops got style.

Picked up this bike last fall. 10 miles daily, all-weather riding around Greater Boston (also added studded tires for winter riding). Took it in for tune-up this week:
- replaced brake cable
- new chain (I'm terrible about wiping off salt/water)
- new brake pads/brakes adjustments
Other cyclists stop and ask about it often. One friend called it "mean," in a good way.
Minor complaints:
- Higher gears are noisy
- Seat tends to slip unless I get a uber Allen wrench for more torque to tighten
Looking at the Azure blue Sanchez as my next bike!

I purchased a Dixon from a LBS and I'm loving it. I'm using it for a commuter bike on a somewhat hilly route and the range of gears are perfect for my needs. Now looking for a fun weekend bike... Sanchez maybe? I'm sold on Swobo... great clothes too.

My Dixon made it through a New England winter just great. Bike is covered in grime and chain is nice and rusty, but the mechanicals are working fine just like they did on the first ride last summer. No regrets.

Hey,
I just got an email and picture from my dad. He bought a Dixon too. After my emails to him on what a great bike it is, he bought one. This man already has many bikes. He has even built several to include a recumbent. He has traveled across the US twice on a bike and has a trip planned in June for his new Dixon. Did I mention he is in his 70's.
Swobo, you should proud that my dad loves this bike. He has a degree in Nuclear Engineering and retired from NASA after contributing to the Apollo and Shuttle programs.

I bought this bike last spring. Overall, it's been a great bike. Really sturdy, and looks awesome with the fender and rear rack/basket package that I bought with it. The bike turns a lot of heads and the SRAM internal gearing makes it a breeze to navigate with traffic. Love the bike...It's a SWOBO!!!

To add to Chris's comment below.
I just road home from work here at Fort Leavenworth, KS. It is 12 F (on the way down) with a wind-chill of -4 right now. The Dixon is a winter champ! Brakes, gears, pedals and crank all work perfect. I am also running Schwalbe Marathon studded winter tires and recommend them highly. It takes longer to get dressed for this kind of cold than it does to ride to work.

Daily commuter here. I just wanted to share my recent experiences on the Dixon with you. Here in Iowa we’ve had some pretty serious weather in December and January....freezing rain, ice, snow sub zero temps. The Dixon has handled it all with absolutely no issues. Breaking and shifting have been almost as good as when its sunny and 75. The only thing I’ve done is to add studded tires. Thank you guys for such a well thought out bike that works.

Wow…just wow, what a great bike. I have had my Dixon for a few weeks now and just love it. The SRAM hub is just fantastic and has plenty range in gear for wherever I ride. I live in Fort Leavenworth, KS and commute every weekday to work. With temps in the winter running between -12 and freezing, the closed hub and disk brakes are great. I had many problems last winter with non working brakes and frozen Derailleurs.
Swobo (Sky) has also been fantastic with customer service and advice on setting the bike up for me. This commuter bike may be one of the most expensive in the market, it is worth every penny. I saved for six months to buy it and would do it again. My gas mileage is incredible too!

Just wanted to mention another thing. The gearing of the S-RAM 9 speed is amazing. I took it for granted until the day I opened the garage to ride to work and realized Dixon had a flat rear tire (metal screw thread embeded straight through the traed!) I almost caved and hopped in the car. I then decided that i would ride my sons K2 ZED 3.0 mtn bike to work. The ride was smooth due to the knobbies and fork suspension, but the gearing was aweful for commuting. Shifting around between the front and rear gears searching for my usual S-RAM 14% up down gearing the Swobo has was futile! I hope I don't have to ride that one again. I also noticed that tat 9-speed hub is $350 itself! Wow.

Top bike. My perfect companion to ride in Seattle!
the internal hub is fantastic... I particularly appreciate the smooth shifting. some gears (8 and 9) are a bit noisy though, may need some adjustment??

my first child will be named "Dixon"...so, i'm now a full pledged commuter. it's been 3 months and i'm healthy as an ox, energy to booth and i've saved...get ready for this...approx $1000 in gas NOT driving to work. my new best friend "Dixon" has paid for it self. oh, umm...i've been passing a "few" cars stuck in traffic on my route to and from work (hehehe). it's been a drastic change in my life style and i thank you for the positive movement...BIG UP! Swobo, much LOVE and RESPECT!

I've had the Dixon 5 months, and have ridden it 10 miles a day since. I love it. My ride has some fairly good hills, and the 9-speed hub is perfect. It is easy to adjust, and works smoothly if it is adjusted correctly. I sometimes have to ease up on the cranks to down-shift, but overall it works great. I have the fenders and the rear basket, which I use to carry my "stuff" to work, or to pick up a few groceries on the way home. The bike is perfect for commuting, as it deals well with sidewalks, driveway aprons, bike paths, sticks, stones, curbs, potholes, etc that are typical in the real world. Dixon is TUFF!

For any city dweller this is the bike to have. Brakes stop good, the internal gearing is great for stop and go in the burbs. As the other poster said the bike is a real head turner and conversation piece. With it being to sleek and all. I put some balloon tires on mine and it really makes the bike stand out. All the parts are well machined, frame is built like a tank (yet suprisinly lightweight) so far it has taken all my abuse!
Great bike, I love it,
you should buy one.

I picked mine up back in June and I couldn't be happier. Good height, good weight, solid construction. Putting it together was a breeze and the ride is smooth. LA is surprisingly hilly, but the 9 gears is all you need. And I've never had more questions about a bike -- people stop me all the time to ask me about the frame, the internal gears, the brand, etc. It's definitely turned into a conversation piece.

I've had my Dixon for about a month and love it! I was originally considering the Otis 3 speed but am glad that I went with the 9-speed. The range of gears is excellent and the internal hub and shifting are just great! The geometry is a perfect blend of stability + responsiveness. Thans for designing and building such a great bike! :-)

I've had this bike about six weeks. The setup was simple (which was important since Kauai is a little far from San Francisco). Mine came with BB7 brakes both front and rear, a worthy upgrade from the BB5's. Internal gearing was important to me because I didn't want to fool with sand in multiple external cogs. Shifting was perfectly set up; I didn't have to touch the adjustment. I had a few questions which were answered personally by Sky. Kauai isn't exactly urban but this bike is perfect for going to the beach, exercising, and, if the bike path ever gets finished, riding the seven miles to work. Great company with the right attitude.

Love this bike! I ride it about 8-10 miles every trip and its been performing like a champ. Went through a couple of heavy rain storms with it too and makes me appreciate the internal gear hub even more. Last but not least, front and rear disc brakes rock!
